Chronology of cameras Mamiya
This is the first compact of the brand to have a CdS cell, it rather plays in the big leagues with three lenses available: f / 2, f / 1.7 and f / 1.5.
Some copies have "Mamiya / Sekor" engraved directly on the cover, others have a plate affixed to the cover with the name of the brand. This is the last 35mm rangefinder of the brand manufactured in the 60s Mamiya abandon this niche for 10 years, until the release of the Mamiya 135 in 1977.
Classic manufacturing and design, we feel that Mamiya did not want to take any risks. Yet it has been probably less sold than competitors. This is a pretty sought after device today.
My copy has required some repair, the self timer was blocked, preventing from tripping. The shutter was also gummed; in any case, everything works now.
